Rotorua - Mt. Biking

We visited a volcanic park (Kuirau) and then went Mt. Biking before heading to Taupo and then to Turangi.  At the volcanic park we got to see lots of bubbling mud, steam vents, and water you wouldn't want to touch.  We tried our hand at mountain biking which was a blast.  The Kiwis are a step ahead of the world in having fun.  The turns on some of the track is banked, so you can ride really fast around turns.  I enjoyed that immensely.  We then headed through Taupo to Turangi where we would stay before the Tongariro Crossing.  On the way, we ran out of gas near a forest fire that was just under way.  Got some shots of helicopters dumping water onto it.  See Steve's selection of these photos at Ofoto with his commentary or check out all the pictures from Rotorua.
