Northland:

We stayed in Hamilton for one night after the Coromandel Peninsula and then shot up to the Bay of Islands on in the Northlands.  We stopped for at Waiwera Thermal Resort (Steve got a massage, Andrew got an anti-massage by riding the water slides).  Then we headed up, checked out a Honey Farm, a historic bar, and did an unfulfilling hike before arriving in Paihia at my timeshare.  Once in Paihia, we rode some speed boats out to "Hole in the Rock", visited Russell, took a bus tour of Cape Reigna, rode boogie boards down sand dunes, and drove along 90 mile beach.  We also learned a bit about the history of New Zealand at the Treaty House where the Maori's and Brits agreed to be ruled by the Queen.  Steve has a nice selection of the pictures at Ofoto with commentary.  If you want to see all the pictures, Click here.

Steve's Photo Album

A mixed bag of pics here....surfing down sand-dunes, boat trips in the bay, a bit of history, and a visit to a chocolate factory. Oh, and Cape Reinga where you watch the Tasman sea collide (literally) with the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy, Steve
