Day 5:

On my own until 6am.  Decided to go to some of the famous (or infamous) backpacker hangouts.

Airport Security that helped cut my laptop lock.  I stored my luggage at the airport while I was touring around Bangkok on my own.  I locked my laptop and bag to the rest of my luggage.  I lost my key to this lock in Patpong somewhere.  I searched all over the airport for someone to help me cut it.  Maintenance, airport police, Bangkok police, etc.  No one had any tools to cut my cable.  Amazing.  Finally I tried the airport security guys.  After some discussion, they said maybe they could use a knife.  I was doubtful.  How could a knife cut a cable.  Well, they proved me wrong.  They got this big rusty knife and laid the cable on the sidewalk.  One whack and my cable was cut.  Amazing.  So now I'm buds with airport security in Bangkok.  If you ever go to Bangkok, the head of airport security will give you special treatment.
